Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name..(Matthew 6:9)

Hallowed: to make holy, to reverence, to honor as sacred.

Holy: free from sin and sinful affections. Pure in heart.

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, the whole earth is full of his glory (Isaiah 6:3)

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come(Revelation 4:8b)

God…….Holy is His Name………Fragrant clouds of incense, swirl around Your throne of grace.

Lord we bow in worship at the brilliance of your face…we cry….Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord!

God knows we are only pilgrims and that eternity is so close that any

“goodbye” is in reality a “see you tomorrow”.

A Pilgrim:  a traveller, a wanderer, a foreigner..one who lives in the

world, but is not of this world…..

Jesus died according to the purposes of DIVINE PROVIDENCE, not according to  the whims of cowardly men, just so you and I will die, not according to the will of some horrible tragedy, cancer or painful disease. We will die under the good hand of God’s PROVIDENTIAL care. We will pass through the curtain according to God’s clock, not the time-table of random fate.

DIVINE:  godlike, apparently above what is human.

PROVIDENCE:  timely care or preparation, God’s direction over and for his creatures

PROVIDENTIAL:  effected by the Providence of God

“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Matt: 16:26.
To forfeit: to lose your right by some deed or crime
The soul: The spiritual and immortal part of man….the moral and emotional part of man’s nature…..the immaterial spirit which inhabits the body…imperishble, that is, the part of man that never dies…

How then can we guard the soul? and to whom does our soul belong?
“For every living soul belongs to me….”Ezekiel 18:4

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your SOUL and with all your strength”Deut:6:5…
Man has a deep-seated longing in his heart to be with God. Although he tries to satisfy this desire with the things of this “world”, he always comes up empty.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. where can I go and meet with God?” Psalm 42: 1-2.
“….fear the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, love him, serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and observe the Lord’s commands…..Deut: 10:12-13.
And we know that is no easy task in the world that we live in, but God promises to be there every step of the way.

“‘When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul”.Psalm 94:19
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want…..he restores my soul”.Psalm23:1-2.
“My soul clings to you: your right hand upholds me”. Psalm 64:8

Guard your soul…..”In the paths of the wicked lie thorns and snares, but he who guards his soul stays far from them.” Proverbs 22:5

Jesus said,”Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of THE ONE who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”Matt: 10:28
